A display device is designed to enhance user experiences by integrating virtual world images with real-world displays. Advancements in electronic technology have led to new user experiences, such as co-viewing content across different spaces. Traditionally, this was achieved using head-mounted displays (HMDs) in a virtual world setting. However, real-world display devices lacked the ability to provide this immersive co-viewing experience. This innovation addresses the gap by enabling real-world displays to facilitate virtual world interactions without requiring separate UI/UX designs.
The display device operates in multiple modes. In the first mode, it shows a virtual world image with a virtual display device where content is viewed. When switching to a second mode, it displays part of the area excluding the virtual display device and shows content in another section of the screen. The transition between modes is triggered by user manipulations or predefined conditions, ensuring seamless integration between virtual and real-world elements.
Users can interact with the device through avatars representing themselves and others viewing the same content. The avatars can be modified using remote controls, voice commands, keyboard inputs, or gestures. Additional features include displaying third-party avatars or images and providing chat functionalities to enhance social interactions within the virtual space.
The device includes a communication interface for streaming data and receiving virtual world images from servers. It processes user commands to share content with other users and adjusts displays based on network connections. By integrating these capabilities, the device offers a comprehensive solution for immersive content viewing experiences in both virtual and real-world settings.
